Elmore Volunteer Opportunities
Adullam House: Adullam House is a nonprofit preschool and boarding school for children of inmates. The children range in age from birth to teen years of age. At Adullam House, the children find security and structure in their daily environment. Volunteers are needed to do a little of everything such as laundry, cooking, taking care of the children, and care-giving.
Alabama Wildlife Foundation (Lanark): Volunteers teach water and wildlife conservation to children, how to fish, and the flora and fauna of Alabama. Volunteers also help maintain trails and gardens, as well as maintain, stock, and feed fish in ponds.
Association of Christians for Service (ACTS): Volunteers help at the clothes closet, food pantry, and also with utilities. Volunteers are needed to work in a variety of jobs from hanging clothes, making up food boxes, computer work, answering telephone, etc.
Cain’s Chapel Food Pantry: Food pantry and clothes closet in Holtville-Deatsville area.
Eclectic Kindness Ministry Food Pantry: Volunteers are needed to collect, sort, stock and oversee the disbursement of canned and dry goods.
Eclectic Library: Volunteers stock shelves and maintain library but do lots of fundraising for the facility.
Elmore County Black Heritage Association: An organization involved in restoration of the Old Elmore County training school in Wetumpka, AL. The Association has meetings, research, hands-on restoration, tours, and a quilting group that sells quilts to raise money for the Association work.
Elmore County Food Pantry: Volunteers are needed to interview clients, complete intake forms and spreadsheets, stock shelves, unload trucks, collect food, sort food, and monitor client’s selections; volunteers also provide job counseling and guidance with meal planning and food preparation.
Elmore County Homebound Meals: Volunteers are needed to serve in senior centers packing and delivering meals to homebound seniors at various senior centers in the county.
Elmore County Humane Shelter: Volunteers are needed to serve in the Thrift Store; volunteers will research value of items, collect items, price items, organize items, stock shelves, and serve in the store.
Master Gardeners: Advances gardeners who do special projects in the county.
Millbrook Senior Center Homebound Meals: Volunteers deliver hot meals to homebound seniors.
People that Care, Inc: Volunteers are needed to separate and hang clothes in the clothing closet, stock the food pantry, make food boxes, counseling, and answer telephones.
RSVP Special Projects: Capacity Building, Healthy Futures, Education, Disaster Services, Veterans and Military Families, Economic Opportunity, Environmental Stewardship.
Tallassee Community Hospital: Volunteer provide services to patients and hospital staff.
Three Rivers Habitat for Humanity: Volunteers are needed to serve on the board, help plan homes, prepare the land, build, and finish homes for low-income families.
Welcome: West Elmore Christian Outreach Ministry Extension. Volunteers are needed to hang and sort clothes, food pantry work, answer telephones, and for computer input.
Wetumpka Senior Center: Volunteers present health, nutrition, and other topics of interest to seniors; volunteers lead exercise.
Wetumpka Chamber of Commerce: Volunteers are needed for office work and other related Chamber business.
